Senior physician Dr K.G. Kulkarni of Koppal was honoured nationally for over five decades of dedicated service.

Veteran physician Dr K.G. Kulkarni, a respected and widely admired medical practitioner from Koppal, has been conferred with the prestigious National Best Family Physician Award in recognition of his exemplary service in the medical field spanning nearly 54 years. The honour, regarded as the only national-level award of its kind, is presented by the central branch of the Indian Medical Association to doctors who have rendered outstanding service in family medicine.
The award was presented at the National Medical Conference held in Ahmedabad. Dr Kulkarni was honoured for his lifelong commitment to patient care, ethical medical practice, and his deep engagement in both medical and social service activities. Over the decades, he has earned immense love and trust from the general public, becoming a household name for compassionate and dependable healthcare in Koppal and surrounding regions.
The award ceremony was attended by several eminent personalities from across the country. Notable among them were Bhupendra Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat; Sharad Kumar Agarwal, National President of the Indian Medical Association; and Ketan Desai, former President of the World Medical Association. Their presence added prestige to the occasion, which celebrated excellence and service in the healthcare profession.
