Minister Santosh Lad has strongly criticized the Prime Minister, stating that “a leader winning an election through deception has never been seen before.” He alleged that the BJP secured victory in the Bihar elections through manipulative tactics.
Speaking to reporters, Lad questioned the Prime Minister’s priorities during the Bihar polls. “There was a bomb blast in Delhi. The Prime Minister could have returned immediately following the incident. Instead, he chose to attend the King of Bhutan’s birthday celebrations,” he remarked, highlighting what he saw as a lack of urgency and responsibility.
Lad also accused the Election Commission of acting in favor of the BJP. According to him, the Mahagathbandhan had a clear lead in postal ballots, but the EVM results favored the NDA. He cited election statistics from Delhi’s Gole Market as evidence of irregularities, asserting that the outcome did not reflect the actual voter trend.
Apart from national political concerns, Lad said he has raised multiple regional issues, including sugarcane-related problems, with the Prime Minister. Chief Ministers have presented five key demands, and the response from the central government is being closely observed.
On administrative matters, Lad noted that decisions regarding leadership changes are made by the party high command. He emphasized that winter sessions of the state assembly are convened specifically to address issues affecting North Karnataka. He credited the Congress party with dedicating significant time in the assembly to discuss local problems and pledged that similar attention will continue in the upcoming winter session to ensure the region’s concerns are addressed effectively.
