Veteran Bollywood actor Prem Chopra, aged 92, has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai following a viral infection and age-related health issues. Doctors have confirmed that the actor is stable and recovering well.
He is a known cardiac patient and also developed a viral infection that affected his lungs. He is not in the ICU; he is being treated in the ward, said Dr. Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital. At his age, recovery takes longer, but he should be fine in three to four days and likely return home soon. Chopra was admitted two days ago under the supervision of cardiologist Dr. Nitin Gokhale.
Actor Sharman Joshi, who is married to Prem Chopra’s daughter Prerana Chopra, also shared a brief update on his father-in-law’s condition, saying, All good, thank you, just some tests, back tomorrow.
Known for his commanding screen presence and iconic villainous roles, Prem Chopra has acted in more than 380 films over six decades. His performances in Bobby, Do Raaste, and Kati Patang remain timeless examples of his talent and versatility.
