BENGALURU
The 57th Sessions Court has adjourned the hearing in the Renukaswamy murder case, involving actor Darshan and others, to November 10. The accused, including Darshan and co-accused Pavithra Gowda, appeared before the 64th CCH Court in Bengaluru on Monday amid heavy security, following the court’s directive for their personal appearance.
During the proceedings, all the accused denied the charges framed against them, leading the court to postpone the case for the next stage of witness examination. Following the hearing, Darshan was taken back to Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
A large crowd of Darshan’s fans gathered near the court premises to catch a glimpse of the actor, who appeared in public for the first time in weeks. Pavithra Gowda was seen entering the courtroom in tears.
The charges read out before the accused include murder, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence, and illegal association. Had the accused pleaded guilty, sentencing would have followed immediately.
Since all of them pleaded not guilty, the judge scheduled November 10 for the next round of proceedings, where witnesses will be examined.
Police escorted all accused under strict security throughout the session to maintain order and prevent any untoward incidents.
