CM Adityanath discussed strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s statistical system with NSC, MoSPI

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a special Diwali bonus for over 14 lakh state government employees, with each eligible employee set to receive up to Rs 6,908 for the financial year 2024-25, officials said on Tuesday. The total cost of this bonus is estimated at around Rs 1,022 crore.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, employees up to Salary Matrix Level-8 will receive the bonus based on 30 days’ emoluments. CM Adityanath described it as a gift from the state government in recognition of employees’ dedication, hard work, and loyalty. “This financial benefit ahead of Diwali will bring joy to families of state employees and energise governance and administration,” he said, extending advance Diwali greetings.
He also directed that payments be made promptly so that all eligible employees can celebrate the festival happily. The Chief Minister underlined the importance of government employees in the state’s progress and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to their welfare.
Earlier, CM Adityanath met with Professor Rajiva Laxman Karandikar, Chairman of the National Statistical Commission (NSC), and Saurabh Garg, Secretary of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), to discuss improving Uttar Pradesh’s statistical system. The meeting focused on enhancing data quality for State GDP estimation, Consumer Price Index, employment indicators, and industrial statistics to support the state’s target of becoming a one trillion-dollar economy.
The Chief Minister welcomed suggestions from NSC and MoSPI and stressed the government’s focus on data-driven planning through initiatives like the CM Dashboard and One Trillion Economy Mission. Karandikar assured continued technical support, highlighting the importance of reliable statistics for evidence-based policy decisions.
