“Ankur” programme empowers financially backward people

In an initiative aimed at supporting education and nurturing young talent, the Mangaluru Taluk Mahila Kokoda in collaboration with Prajyoti Balaga, organised the “Ankur programme, distributing financial aid to the deserving beneficiaries. The event, described by organisers as a long-cherished dream, sought to sow the seeds of growth and opportunity for the next generation. The special feature of the initative was the ‘Prajyoti Balaga’s efforts for extending financial help for the children and families with special needs.

The Projyoti initiative also provides financial help to people who are in need of financing various health conditions, social conditions and economic backwardness.

The term “Ankur” symbolises a sprouting bud from a seed, reflecting the organisers’ vision: the small acts of support provided today have the potential to grow into strong, fruitful outcomes in the future. The assistance, provided to the people from varied socio-economic backgrounds, is intended to enable them to continue their education without financial stress and to encourage academic excellence.

Speaking at the event, President of the Mahila Okkuta Mangaluru taluk Chanchala Tejomaya expressed hope that the seeds they had sown through this initiative would flourish with the continued support and encouragement of the community. She emphasised that the programme’s success depended on collective efforts and called upon local residents and well-wishers to continue fostering this empowerment drive.

The organisers also extended heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the event’s success, particularly the compassionate volunteers and supporters whose dedication helped turn the vision of “Ankur” into reality. With community cooperation, they aspire for the initiative to grow into a sustainable platform for nurturing talent and fostering social development in Mangaluru.
