City North Commissioner Orders Door-to-Door Waste Collection

Bengaluru

City North Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar has directed officials and contractors to collect waste directly from households and transport it to designated disposal centres, following complaints from residents about irregular garbage collection.

During an inspection of the Pulakeshi Nagar division, including Kaveri Nagar, Muniswamappa Colony, and Adarsh Nagar Colony, the Commissioner emphasized the need for efficient waste management. He instructed officials to coordinate with auto-tippers and contractors to ensure timely pickup from homes and prevent dumping in vacant lots. Residents are also to be made aware of proper disposal practices to maintain hygiene.

The Commissioner addressed a specific concern regarding the vacant land on LR Bande Road, noting that it is a disputed area with a pending court case. He advised that the issue should be resolved collaboratively by engineers and the Revenue Department, and appropriate action should be taken to keep the area clean.

Joint Commissioner Mohammad Naeem Momin and other municipal engineers accompanied the Commissioner during the inspection. Authorities assured residents that strict monitoring and awareness campaigns will be conducted to ensure door-to-door waste collection across the Pulakeshi Nagar division.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the City North Corporation to improve urban sanitation, reduce illegal dumping, and maintain public health standards.
