Student Road Safety

The Adugodi Traffic Police Station organized a road safety awareness program for students of Vemana Institute of Technology on Tuesday, aiming to instill responsible driving habits and knowledge of traffic rules among the younger generation. As part of the initiative, the students were taken on a guided visit to the Traffic Park, where they were introduced to various aspects of road safety through practical demonstrations and interactive sessions. Officers explained the importance of adhering to traffic signals, wearing helmets, avoiding over-speeding, and respecting pedestrian rights.

The prog’am also highlighted common causes of accidents in Bengaluru, including reckless driving, mobile phone use while riding, and drunk driving. Students were shown real-life case studies to help them understand the consequences of traffic violations. Officials stressed that youth play a pivotal role in shaping road culture, as many of them are either new drivers or will soon begin commuting independently.

In addition to demonstrations, the police conducted a question-and-answer session, encouraging students to share their views and clarify doubts regarding traffic rules. The event concluded with a pledge by the students to follow road safety norms and act as ambassadors for spreading awareness among peers.

Speaking on the occasion, traffic officers emphasized that sustained awareness campaigns are as critical as enforcement in reducing accidents across the city. The Adugodi Traffic Police confirmed that similar programs will continue in other educational institutions to build a culture of safety and discipline on Bengaluru’s roads.
