Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar conducted an on-site inspection of critical infrastructure works across the city, focusing on road maintenance, drainage, and water supply systems. The inspection aimed to ensure timely completion of pending projects and address civic issues affecting commuters and residents.
At the Nagawara flyover junction, the Commissioner instructed the High Density Corridor team to immediately undertake pothole filling and asphalting works to improve road safety and reduce traffic congestion. He also directed the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) officials to attend to water leakages and complete pending pipe-laying works promptly, after obtaining the necessary traffic clearance to avoid disruption.
Further, Shri Sunil Kumar emphasized the need to expedite the Geddahalli vent work, which falls under the East Corporation limits, urging the Sewerage and Waste Disposal (SWD) department to fast-track operations to prevent waterlogging and drainage issues in the area. He also advised the Assistant Municipal Commissioner (AMC) team to carry out regular desilting of SWD drains to ensure smooth flow and prevent blockages, particularly during the monsoon season.
Officials accompanying the Commissioner were tasked with monitoring the progress of all ongoing works, coordinating between departments, and submitting regular updates to ensure accountability. Local residents welcomed the inspection, noting that timely intervention would improve road conditions, reduce waterlogging, and enhance civic services in the area.
