Hubballi-Jodhpur direct train service set to launch
New Delhi
Karnataka will soon get a new direct train service between Hubballi and Jodhpur, announced on the occasion of the Ganesh festival. The service has been made possible following the efforts of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, who requested the Railway Ministry to approve the long-demanded connection.
The special weekly train (No. 07359) will depart from Hubballi at 7:30 AM and reach Bhagata Ki Koti (BGKT) at 5:30 AM the next day. It will run every Sunday, starting September 28. Ticket bookings for September 28, October 5, 12, and other early October dates have already begun.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav assured that while the train will initially operate as a special weekly service, it is expected to be converted into a periodic daily service in the coming days. This announcement comes as a fulfillment of long-standing demands from residents of Hubballi and North Karnataka seeking direct connectivity to Jodhpur.
Minister Pralhad Joshi, who has successfully brought multiple railway projects to Karnataka including the Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat train, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, and Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna for supporting and approving the initiative.
The new Hubballi-Jodhpur train is seen as a boost for the region’s connectivity, trade, and passenger convenience. Local residents and travelers are expected to benefit significantly from this service, linking commercial and cultural hubs across Karnataka and Rajasthan. The train service underlines the government’s commitment to improving rail infrastructure and meeting regional travel demands.
