CH NEWS, YADGIR

Assistant Director (Rural Development) Shreeshail Halli inspected the groundwater recharge pit development work being undertaken under the VBG Ramji Scheme at Kurekanal village in Bardevanal Gram Panchayat limits of Hunusagi taluk. During the inspection, he reviewed the progress and quality of the water conservation works aimed at improving the command area, increasing water storage capacity and ensuring effective harvesting of rainwater.

He directed the technical staff to execute the works strictly as per prescribed standards without compromising on quality and complete them within the stipulated time so that farmers and the public can derive the intended benefits of the scheme. Shreeshail Halli said that groundwater recharge and integrated development works would facilitate greater water storage during the monsoon, improve groundwater levels, ensure water availability for agricultural activities and contribute to environmental conservation in rural areas. He also stressed that the VBG Ramji Scheme aims to provide employment opportunities to local unskilled labourers along with developing rural infrastructure, he said.

The labourers were also advised to enrol under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana to avail financial assistance for their families in the event of accidental death. Shreeshail Halli instructed all labourers to complete their e-KYC and ensure that two-stage NMMS attendance is recorded on every working day.

Technical Coordinator Sunil Kumar, PDO Prema Pawar, Technical Assistant Mahesh Shetty, BFT Ambareesh, GKM Vanuja, Kayaka Bandhus and labourers were present.
