The district administration has extended the last date for filing objections to the draft notification regarding the fixation of elected member seats in Gram Panchayats. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand K. announced that objections can now be submitted until May 8 up to 5:30 pm. The draft notification was published in the Karnataka Gazette on April 18, 2026, under Section 5(1). Following public response, the Panchayat Raj Department decided to extend the deadline to allow more submissions. Meanwhile, the Adalat to review objections and grievances has been rescheduled to May 13 from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department office in Bengaluru. Citizens attending must carry valid identity documents.
