The High Court unanimous tribunal has said that it is appropriate to hold hearings on the application of the three-member high-level committee headed by retired Justice Subhash Adhi of the State High Court to review the reservation of various communities.

The bench of Justice SG Pandit refused to grant any interim order on the petition filed by the President of the Karnataka State Backward Castes Union, Ramachandrappa, and directed the Registrar General to “submit the application before the Chief Justice.”

Subhash Adi, chairman of Karnataka Sahitya Akademi, headed by Dr. BV Vasantha Kumar R. Kamble was made a Member of the State Government on July 1, 2021. These were the criteria that the Committee had to review in accordance with this order.

* Is the Panchamasaali Lingayat sub-denomination under 3-B now included in the 2-A range? Under what circumstances should it be done?

* What guidelines or procedures can be followed for the implementation of the report of the High Court Retired Justice HN Nagamohanadas Commission?

* Guidelines for the inclusion of shepherds into the Scheduled Tribe.

* What are the ways to add the Veerashaiva Lingayata and the Okkaliga community to the Center’s OBC list? The formation of a high-level committee appointed according to these review elements is illegal. Therefore, the committee should be barred from functioning,” the petitioner requested.

* Senior advocate Ravi Varma Kumar on behalf of the petitioners, Advocate General Prabhu Linga K. Navadagi on behalf of the government and M Vinod Kumar on behalf of the government.
