Burglars target homes in Hanur village, steal cash and gold

Hanur

A series of thefts was reported in Maruru village under Ponnachi gram panchayat limits in Hanur taluk, with burglars allegedly breaking locks and stealing cash and gold ornaments from houses. The houses of Shivamadamma, Nagesh, Shivanna, Jagadish and Kabbalamma were targeted. Four of the residents were staying in Bengaluru, while Kabbalamma was staying at a relative’s house. Taking advantage of the houses being unoccupied, the burglars allegedly broke into three homes and stole valuables. They also attempted to burgle two other houses. DySP Mohan and Inspector Anandamurthy visited the spot and inspected the affected houses on Friday. A sniffer dog squad and fingerprint team also examined the premises. Police have launched an investigation to identify and arrest those involved.
