Bengaluru Authorities Push for Smarter Waste Management Solutions
A high-level coordination meeting between the Bengaluru South Waste Management Limited (BSWML) and Health & Sanitation staff was held under the leadership of Central City Corporation Commissioner Shri Rajendra Cholan, along with 5th Finance Committee Secretary Smt. Snehal. The meeting aimed to assess and streamline ongoing sanitation operations across the city.
During the session, officials conducted a detailed review of critical sanitation mechanisms, including collection and transportation (C and T) of waste, street sweeping schedules, and debris management. Each department was tasked with presenting its progress, challenges, and suggestions for improving efficiency. Special emphasis was placed on ensuring timely collection of solid waste and debris removal in densely populated and commercial areas to maintain hygiene standards.
The Commissioner highlighted the Importance of strict adherence to responsibilities assigned to staff members, urging them to adopt proactive measures to prevent public health hazards. He also emphasized coordination among different teams to ensure smooth execution of sanitation services, particularly in areas prone to waste accumulation and street congestion.
Smt. Snehal underlined the need for accountability and regular monitoring, stressing that continuous improvement in sanitation infrastructure is crucial for public welfare. She recommended the adoption of technology-driven tracking systems to optimize operations and improve response times in addressing citizen complaints. The meeting concluded with a clear directive for all officials to ensure disciplined implementation of sanitation activities, strengthen community engagement, and enhance the overall cleanliness and hygiene standards in Bengaluru.
