Protecting culture
BENGALURU
Veteran Kannada actor Sri Ramesh Bhat emphasised the importance of instilling cultural values in children alongside academic learning during the inauguration of the new Academic Block at Deeksha STEM School, Kengeri.
The Kengeri campus, now officially recognised as the fourth CBSE-affiliated STEM school in Bengaluru, joins the network of campuses at Judicial Layout, Vidyanagar, and Bannerghatta Road. The new block features advanced laboratories, design studios, collaborative learning spaces, and AI-enhanced English labs, supporting a future-ready STEM curriculum.
Bhat highlighted that education alone is insufficient; children must also be taught the traditions, arts, and ethics that shape society. “While STEM equips students for tomorrow, culture and values guide them to become responsible citizens,” he said.
The inauguration was complemented by Namma Carnival, a celebration of Karnataka’s heritage, where students, parents, and visitors engaged in traditional games, cultural performances, and art activities.
Dr G Sridhar, Founder of Deeksha STEM School, noted that the Kengeri campus reflects the school’s vision of blending academic rigour with cultural awareness, fostering creativity, scientific thinking, and real-world application.
Parents, educators, and community members attended the event, marking a milestone in Bengaluru’s multi-campus STEM school ecosystem and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to holistic education that balances innovation with tradition.
