Ramanagara
City Municipal Council (CMC) President K. Sheshadri (Shashi) inaugurated the road development work in front of Sri Anjaneyaswamy Temple at Agrahara, Ramanagara, on Monday. The 180-meter stretch will be developed at a cost of ₹19 lakh, he announced.
Speaking after the groundbreaking ceremony, Sheshadri said that several road projects had already been undertaken under various schemes, but the stretch on Chhatra Street remained incomplete. The area houses three major temples — Sri Rama, Sri Anjaneyaswamy, and Sri Raghavendraswamy — and devotees, as well as local residents, had been facing significant difficulties due to the poor road condition. Responding to repeated appeals from the public, the CMC has now sanctioned funds to develop the road, he said.
Sheshadri assured that the contractor has been instructed to maintain high-quality standards during construction. He further expressed concern about the growing problem of littering on city roads, noting that even educated citizens are carelessly dumping waste. Awareness campaigns are being conducted in schools, colleges, and among the public to promote cleanliness, he added.
He also stated that, similar to measures taken in the BBMP limits, steps are being considered to impose penalties on those who dump garbage irresponsibly within the municipal area.
CMC Vice President Ayesha Bhanu, members Mahalaxmi Gooligowda, Somasekhar (Mani), Ajmat, and other officials, including AE Vishwanath and Engineer Pavitra, were present at the event.
