As part of poll preparedness, City Police has issued detention orders against four persons involved in several cases under the Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of boot-leggers, drug offenders, gamblers, goondas, immoral traffic offenders, slum grabbers and video or audio pirates Act, 1985 (Goonda Act/ Preventive Detention Act).
The city police have also issued exterment orders against 13 more people. City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal said that the accused booked under the Goonda Act/ Preventive Detention Act is Hemachandra alias Prajwal Poojary (29), currently residing in Someshwar. He is an accused in 17 cases. Nawaz alias Nawwa alias Mudipu Nawaz (36) from Ullal, has 13 cases registered against him. Charan alias Charan Shet alias Charan Pal (39) from Kulur Ferry Road, has 11 cases in his name.
Meanwhile, City Police issued externment orders against 13 individuals between March 23 to March 26. This is in addition to 48 people against whom externment orders were issued earlier this month. They have been externed to different districts and a close watch is being kept over their activities. Furthermore, security bonds have been imposed on 480 individuals, who are habitual offenders.
