Speaking to reporters in the city, MLA Pradeep Eshwar Iyer indirectly took a dig at fellow legislator Basanagouda Yatnal Patil, saying, “Being a joker is better than being a broker. I too am a joker,” hinting at Yatnal’s political antics.
He pointed out that Yatnal does not even hold formal BJP membership, raising questions about how he could aspire to become the state’s Chief Minister in 2028. “All of this is just daydreaming. There is no harm in him dreaming, let’s leave it to him,” he added.
Iyer further emphasized that, as per India’s democratic system, elected representatives must perform their duties responsibly. “If not, how will a building be damaged if a JCB is brought in? If he has courage, he should bring a bulldozer and do the work in his constituency,” he warned. Regarding upcoming assembly elections, he remarked that Yatnal need not comment on whether he will receive deposits or not, noting that “if Amma Ambulance service is implemented effectively, victory will be visible in the future.”
Support to Pawan
He also welcomed Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s statements advocating for genuine efforts to provide irrigation facilities to Karnataka through the Krishna River. “There has been a continuous struggle in this region to implement proper projects, and sincere response is required,” Iyer said.
Fake Certificates Cancelled
MLA Iyer highlighted that during previous assembly elections, MPs had issued fake entitlement certificates to win votes. “All these have now been cancelled. How can documents be issued without identifying the allotted settlement areas? Applicants should know exactly where their land is,” he said. He added that the government is sincerely working to issue new entitlement certificates to those without settlements, in line with official regulations.
