Congress Party Sweeps Bangalore Dakshina Taluk Agricultural Co-Operative Society Elections

In a decisive victory, the candidates of the Congress party have clinched the top positions in the Bangalore Dakshina Taluk Agricultural Produce Marketing Co-operative Society (TAPCMS) elections, securing the posts of President and Vice President. The election results were announced by Hammeed Ullah Khan, Bangalore City District Cooperative Development Officer, who acted as the Election Officer. D. Hanumanthiah, the President of the State Okkaligar Sangh, has been elected unopposed for the post of President, marking his sixth consecutive term in this role. Meanwhile, Anil Kumar has also been elected unopposed as the Vice President of TAPCMS. Former mayor SK Nataraj, representing various co-operative societies, was elected unopposed as a director of the new governing body, representing the Beguru constituency. Joining him in the new governing body are Venkatamma Revanna Siddaiah, Muthuraj, V. Thimmegowda, G. Padmavathy, V. Venugopal, Venkatesh.K.M. M. Venkatesh, DS Chandrasekhar, TC Manjunath, and Prakash M, who have been selected from various primary cooperative societies. D. Hanumantayya, the newly elected President, expressed his commitment to serving as the president of the state unit union of Taluka Agricultural Produce Marketing Cooperative Societies (TAPCMS). He highlighted the importance of addressing the challenges faced by thousands of employees working in the state’s TAPCMS, particularly in ensuring efficient transportation of goods. In some taluks, the double hiring of private lorries for transporting goods has resulted in delayed payments to thousands of laborers. President Hanumantayya intends to seek the support of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna to address this issue and explore the use of cooperative vehicles for smoother and more cost-effective transportation.
