In a shocking incident in Bihar’s Patna district, a Dalit woman was allegedly stripped, assaulted, and urinated on by a moneylender and his associates. The incident reportedly occurred after the woman had complained to the police about the moneylender’s unjustified demand for more money, even though the debt had been fully repaid. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has condemned the incident and promised strict action against those involved. He instructed the police and administration to prioritize handling such cases. The key accused, Pramod Singh, and his son Anshu Singh are currently on the run, and a manhunt has been launched to arrest them. The victim, who is receiving medical treatment, claimed that she had endured this torture despite repaying the borrowed money with interest. The incident took place in a village under the jurisdiction of Khusrupur Police Station in Patna on the night of September 23. Pramod Singh allegedly threatened the victim over the phone, stating that she would be paraded naked in the village if she did not give him more money. She reported this threat to the police using her mobile phone. A family member of the victim stated that a police team had visited the village on Saturday to inquire about the complaint, which seemed to anger Pramod and his associates. They forcibly took the victim to Pramod’s house, where she was allegedly disrobed, beaten with fists and sticks, and had urine poured into her mouth. The Senior Superintendent of Police (Patna), Rajeev Mishra, confirmed that a manhunt is underway to arrest the accused. Multiple police teams are conducting searches, and a case has been registered with further investigations ongoing.
