India is securing unprecedented global recognition and economic stability owing to the visionary leadership and welfare initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stated former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai.
Inaugurating an assistive equipment distribution camp for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) at Shri Swami Vivekananda Sabha Bhavan in the APMC yard on Thursday, Bommai extended birthday greetings to the Prime Minister, wishing him longevity and strength to lead India toward becoming a developed nation by 2047. The event was organized under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment’s ADIP scheme as part of the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
Addressing the gathering, Bommai described persons with disabilities as invaluable pillars who complete society. “Divyangs possess unique talents and resilience to surmount physical shortcomings. Moving forward with self-confidence and dignity will illuminate their path to progress,” he remarked, resolving to ensure comprehensive assistance reaches every disabled resident across the district within the next three years.
Highlighting national development, the MP pointed out that targeted Union schemes have constructed over 4 crore houses, built 12 crore sanitation facilities, delivered tap water access to nearly 60 crore individuals, and expanded clean cooking fuel via Ujjwala Yojana. Furthermore, 80 crore citizens receive monthly grain support, contributing to lifting approximately 25 crore people out of multidimensional poverty.
Bommai emphasized that with an economic growth trajectory leading major economies at 7.8%, India has ascended from 11th to 4th globally, expressing confidence in reaching the top three economic powers within two years.
MLC S.V. Sankanur, Urban Development Authority Chairman Akbar Sahab Babarji, Deputy Commissioner C.N. Sridhar, and ALIMCO Manager Lisan Sarkar attended the distribution ceremony.
