Greenply Industries Limited has partnered with GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd to introduce LNG-powered trucks into its outbound logistics operations, marking a move towards cleaner and more sustainable freight transportation.
The partnership was formally launched with the flag-off of GreenLine’s LNG-powered trucks at Greenply’s manufacturing facility in Vadodara. Under the initiative, the trucks will transport Greenply products from the facility to destinations across its distribution network. The company said the move will help bring cleaner mobility solutions into its freight operations while supporting cost-effective logistics.
According to Greenply, the LNG-powered trucks can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40 per cent, sulphur oxides by up to 100 per cent, nitrogen oxides by up to 59 per cent, particulate matter by up to 91 per cent and carbon monoxide by up to 70 per cent. The company said the initiative is part of its wider sustainability efforts, which now extend beyond manufacturing to logistics and distribution activities.
Greenply Joint Managing Director Sanidhya Mittal said sustainability should cover the movement of products across the entire value chain. He said the introduction of LNG trucks at the Vadodara facility was a first step towards adopting more responsible mobility solutions while maintaining supply-chain efficiency and reliability.
GreenLine CEO Madhur Taneja said the partnership would support cleaner freight transportation without compromising operational efficiency. GreenLine currently operates more than 1,000 LNG- and electric-powered heavy commercial vehicles across major freight corridors in India. Its fleet has travelled more than 100 million kilometres and helped customers reduce over 27,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
Greenply will evaluate the operational feasibility of alternative-fuel vehicles across its dispatch network and explore further opportunities to make its logistics ecosystem more sustainable.
