PSG Chase Historic Champions League Three-Peat

Munich

The UEFA Champions League 2026-27 season begins Tuesday with 36 of Europe’s top clubs chasing the continent’s biggest prize, as Paris Saint-Germain target an unprecedented third successive title.

Luis Enrique’s side enter the campaign as favourites after beating Arsenal and Bayern Munich on their way to another European triumph last season. PSG are aiming to match Real Madrid’s three-peat from 2016-18 and become the next club to achieve the feat.

Their squad remains formidable despite an uneven transfer window. PSG missed out on Yan Diomande, who joined Real Madrid, while Bradley Barcola has departed. They have added Ferran Torres, Lucas Digne, Mika Godts and Maghnes Akliouche, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele remain key attacking figures.

PSG begin at home against Slovan Bratislava and will also host Barcelona, Roma and Galatasaray. Their away fixtures include trips to Manchester City, Aston Villa, Villarreal and Como.

Arsenal, runners-up last season, begin away against Napoli and will hope to finally take the final step. They have strengthened with Ezri Konsa, Bruno Guimarães and Christos Tzolis, but saw Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus leave. Their other away opponents include Bayern Munich, Real Betis and Slavia Prague.

Bayern, meanwhile, start at home against Bodo/Glimt. Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz headline their attack as they chase a first European title since 2019-20.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City remain serious threats, ensuring another highly competitive battle for European supremacy. Real Madrid will rely on Mbappe, Vinicius and Bellingham, while Barcelona and City remain serious contenders.
