The Karnataka government has launched Praja Seve Andolan meetings to provide people with a simpler way to raise grievances and obtain government services.
The meetings will be held at taluk and hobli levels every Saturday, beginning September 5, with officials expected to hear complaints and provide possible solutions quickly.
Meetings chaired by district in-charge ministers will take place at taluk centres on the first and third Saturdays, while local MLAs will lead meetings on the second and fourth Saturdays. Officials will accept applications, provide eligible services on the spot and monitor unresolved complaints. Information about meetings will be distributed at least 15 days in advance.
People can submit applications through Gram One centres before meetings. Gram One facilities at venues will also offer computers, printers and internet access for online applications. Applicants will receive facilities to track the progress of their complaints. Meeting details will later be uploaded to the government portal.
Unresolved applications will undergo weekly reviews every Wednesday at three levels. Taluk officials will review cases from 9 am to 11 am, sub-divisional officers from 11 am to 1 pm, and district officials from 3 pm to 5 pm. Cases that remain unresolved will move to higher authorities.
In Udupi district, meetings were scheduled at several locations under the respective ministers and MLAs. Officials urged residents to participate actively and use the new platform to seek solutions. The programme aims to make administration more accessible, transparent and accountable to citizens.
