‘Model Mania’ science model-making competition for students

Mysuru:

Rotary Mysore Children’s Library (RMCL) has organised ‘Model Mania – Science Model-Making Competition’ to provide school students an opportunity to showcase their scientific knowledge, creativity and innovative skills.

Rotary, which has been serving the Mysuru community for over a century, has been conducting various programmes in the fields of health, education, awareness and community development. As part of its continued efforts to promote learning and creativity among children, RMCL regularly organises literary and educational activities for students and teachers.

The ‘Model Mania’ competition aims to create greater interest in science among students while encouraging new thinking, creativity, practical knowledge and innovation. The organisers said the competition would offer students an opportunity to learn through an engaging and entertaining experience, apart from providing them a platform to present their scientific ideas through creative models.

Students studying up to Class 10 from schools across Mysuru city are eligible to participate in the competition.

According to the participation guidelines, a maximum of two teams from each school can take part. Each team should comprise three to four students. Students from all schools in Mysuru city are eligible to participate.

The Rotary Mysore Children’s Library has appealed to schools and students to make use of the opportunity and encourage children to transform their scientific ideas into innovative and creative models.

The organisers said the competition would help nurture scientific curiosity and provide children with a platform to demonstrate their talent and imagination.

The programme carries the message: “Let’s Learn – Let’s Create – Let’s Innovate!”
