Addressing a press conference at the KKRDB office, Ajay Singh said 226 Union Ministers and legislators from the BJP were facing various allegations. West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma should first resign and then speak about the resignation of our ministers, he said.
Reacting to the BJP’s demand for Nagendra’s resignation over the alleged Rs 87 crore irregularity in the Valmiki Corporation, Ajay Singh said the entire amount had been recovered and explanations had already been given. When he has not been proved guilty, why should he resign. If anyone is found guilty, the government will take appropriate action, he said. He alleged that the BJP was politicising the issue as it had no other major issue to take up.
Ajay Singh also hit out at the BJP over the issue of Vande Mataram, saying the Congress did not need lessons in patriotism from the BJP. The Congress played a major role in India’s freedom struggle. Are there any freedom fighters in the BJP, he asked. He said the Congress had taken a decision as early as 1937 regarding singing two stanzas of Vande Mataram and alleged that the BJP was now trying to politicise the issue.
Ajay Singh alleged that unemployment was worsening in the country and accused the BJP-led Union government of diverting public attention towards issues such as “One Nation, One Election” and delimitation. He recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to create two crore jobs every year after coming to power in 2014. Had that promise been fulfilled, the unemployment situation would not have become so serious today, he said.

Minister Ajay Singh alleged that the Centre was not taking adequate steps to create employment opportunities for the youth. Referring to the recent resignation of the Union Education Minister, he said the issue reflected the growing anger among young people. Ajay Singh further said the Congress had been demanding a nationwide farm loan waiver, but alleged that the Centre and BJP leaders were not addressing the issue.
