For the bright future of children pursuing primary and secondary education in the state, it is proposed to start 1000 well-equipped Karnataka Public School model schools with smart classrooms and state-of-the-art facilities, providing quality education in both Kannada and English medium from LKG to Class 12 in a single campus, and steps will be taken for its implementation in a phased manner, said State School Education and Literacy Department and District In-charge Minister S Madhu Bangarappa.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone of a new school building proposed to be built by Ajax Karnataka Public School at the Science Ground on BH Road under the CSR fund jointly sponsored by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, School Education and Literacy Department and Ajax Engineering Limited and Ajax Engineering Charitable Trust.
He said that it is intended to construct and dedicate 500 KPS schools in the next two years, adding that the foundation stone laying and dedication programme for the state-level inauguration of Karnataka KPS schools and development works in the district will be organized in Shivamogga soon.
He said that for the construction of Ajax Karnataka Public School building, which is currently being constructed on the Science School premises, Ajax Foundation Head K Vijay and Kalyani Vijay will construct a three-storey building from their trust at a cost of Rs 13.05 crores within a year and hand it over to the department.

State Textile Infrastructure Development Corporation Chairman K Chetan, Nomad Development Corporation Chairman G Pallavi, MLCs DS Arun, Balkis Banu and others were present.
