Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), has strongly criticized the Central government for its recent actions against student protesters. During a press conference, the former Chief Minister drew a shocking parallel between the police treatment of young demonstrators and the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre. He argued that the authorities used excessive force, including lathi charges and pellet guns, against the younger generation.
Thackeray praised “Gen Z” for their resilience, claiming they have successfully brought the central government to its knees through their persistence. He expressed deep frustration over how the current administration has responded to the legitimate aspirations of the youth. Instead of offering support or dialogue, he alleged, the government chose to meet their requests for justice with ruthless oppression.
The UBT chief did not hold back his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. He pointed out that while the Prime Minister finds time to meet with political defectors, he remains completely unavailable to the protesting students. Thackeray questioned the leadership’s priorities, noting that the Prime Minister recently reassured political allies by saying, “I am with you.” He argued that this is exactly the kind of comfort and support the government should have offered to the nation’s youth instead of ignoring them.
Furthermore, Thackeray described the current administration as an “Instagram government,” suggesting that they lack any genuine connection with real-world issues. He remarked that the younger generation is no longer interested in the rhetoric or dialogues pushed by the RSS leadership, including Mohan Bhagwat. According to Thackeray, the youth of India are rightfully furious, and they are no longer willing to listen to the empty promises or efforts of the ruling party. He concluded by calling for a complete overhaul of the current system, insisting that the country deserves a government that listens to its people rather than silencing them with violence.
