Jemimah’s injury puts Asia cup at risk

Intro: Jemimah Rodrigues’ hamstring injury has ended her Hundred campaign and left her Asia Cup participation uncertain ahead of India’s continental challenge.

India batter Jemimah Rodrigues has been ruled out of the remainder of The Hundred after suffering a hamstring injury, raising serious doubts over her participation in the upcoming Women’s T20 Asia Cup.

Representing Southern Brave in the 100-ball competition, Jemimah featured in six innings and scored 143 runs at an average of 35.75 and a strike rate of 131.19. Her campaign was cut short by the injury, forcing the franchise to bring in Australian all-rounder Charli Knott as her replacement for the remainder of the tournament.

We can confirm that due to an injury suffered by Jemimah Rodrigues, we’ve signed Charli Knott as our injury replacement for the remainder of The Hundred. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Jemi, Southern Brave said in an official statement.

The injury comes at a crucial stage for India, with the Women’s T20 Asia Cup scheduled to take place in Dubai from August 28 to September 13. Jemimah’s availability for the continental tournament will depend on her recovery and response to treatment.

Jemimah has established herself as an important member of India’s batting unit, particularly for her ability to handle both pace and spin and accelerate during the middle overs. She also played a key role in India’s 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup triumph.

India will begin its Group A campaign against Thailand on August 30, followed by matches against Hong Kong and Pakistan on September 3 and 5.

If Jemimah fails to recover in time, wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia could be considered as her replacement.

Quote: Wishing you a speedy recovery, Jemi, Southern Brave said after confirming Jemimah’s injury replacement.
