Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Monday inaugurated a new MLA office in Perambur, the constituency he represents. Later, he expressed grief over the death of noted Tamil writer and Sahitya Akademi Award winner Poomani. Vijay announced that the author would be given state honours during his final rites. He praised Poomani’s contribution to Tamil literature, highlighting his award-winning novel Annati and Vekkai, which inspired the acclaimed film Asuran.
