NEW DELHI
Accorind to reports, retail space leasing in malls and busy market areas dropped 15 per cent during January to March across seven major Indian cities. The total leasing stood at 3.1 million square feet, lower than the previous quarter’s 3.6 million square feet. Experts said the decline was mainly caused by reduced fresh supply in shopping malls and prime retail locations. The report covered major cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune. Despite the fall, demand for quality retail spaces in top locations remained stable during the quarter overall.
