The District Legal Services Authority has announced that the National Lok Adalat will be held on July 11, while a special “Conciliation Session” Lok Adalat for Supreme Court cases will take place on August 21, 22, and 23. Senior Civil Judge and District Legal Services Authority Member Secretary Mahantesh S Dargada said the programmes offer a valuable opportunity for people to settle disputes quickly through mutual agreement.
Speaking at a press conference at the District Court office, he said several types of pending cases can be resolved through the National Lok Adalat. These include civil disputes, land acquisition matters, bank recovery cases, cheque bounce complaints, motor accident compensation cases, matrimonial disputes, and compoundable criminal cases.
He explained that cases settled through mutual conciliation would help parties avoid lengthy court proceedings and reduce legal expenses. He also said that the full court fee paid by parties would be refunded if disputes are resolved through Lok Adalat.
The National Lok Adalat will be conducted in all courts across Koppal district under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge Chandrashekar C, who also serves as Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority.
Regarding the special conciliation Lok Adalat, Dargada said the Supreme Court of India has identified 4,328 cases related to Karnataka for mediation and settlement. Out of these, 61 cases are connected to Koppal district, including 60 civil cases and one criminal matter.
Interested parties can register from today through taluk, district, or state legal services authorities to settle their disputes through mediation. Officials said selected cases will be resolved locally with the help of trained mediators.
Court staff, legal services authority officials, and media representatives attended the press conference held in Koppal district.
