Surpur
Residents of Surpur in Raichur district have urged municipal authorities to urgently clean clogged and overflowing drains, citing severe sanitation issues in the area. In Ward No. 27 of Thimmappur near the Markandeya Temple, stagnant sewage has led to a foul smell, making it difficult for locals to move around freely. Frustrated by the lack of action from the City Municipal Council, residents have reportedly begun cleaning the drains themselves and removing accumulated waste. This has sparked anger and concern over official negligence. Local leaders, including Mallu Vishnu Sena of Vishnu Sena organisation, criticised the authorities and demanded immediate intervention. Residents also warned of possible health risks due to the unhygienic conditions and urged swift action to prevent the spread of diseases.
