The district administration has announced that millet procurement under the Minimum Support Price scheme for 2025–26 is underway. Purchase centers have been opened across the district to buy millet directly from farmers. Officials said the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation has directed that all procurement work must be completed by May 15. The collected millet will be distributed under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) for the months of May and June. Farmers who are yet to sell their produce have been urged to use this opportunity. Authorities aim for smooth implementation without delays or confusion.
