A Hajj-Umrah training camp was organised at the Rifaai Juma Masjid in Kodijal under the Khidmatul Islam Association, Konaje, to guide prospective pilgrims on the procedures and preparations required for the holy pilgrimage.
The training programme aimed to provide detailed guidance to pilgrims on religious rituals, travel arrangements, health precautions, documentation, and essential do’s and don’ts during Hajj and Umrah. Religious scholars and experienced instructors conducted sessions explaining each stage of the pilgrimage in a structured manner.
Participants were educated on ihram rules, performance of tawaf, sai, and other rituals, along with practical advice on managing large crowds and maintaining discipline during the pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. The organisers also highlighted the importance of spiritual preparation and physical fitness before undertaking the journey.
Health officials and community volunteers reportedly provided additional inputs on preventive care, vaccinations, and emergency handling during travel. The session also included interactive discussions where participants clarified their doubts regarding visa procedures, travel logistics, and accommodation arrangements.
Organisers stated that such training camps help first-time pilgrims gain confidence and ensure that they perform religious duties correctly without confusion. They added that awareness programmes like this are essential due to the large number of people undertaking Hajj and Umrah each year from coastal Karnataka.
The event witnessed active participation from local residents and aspiring pilgrims, who appreciated the initiative for its practical and religious guidance. The organisers assured that similar sessions would be conducted regularly to support the community and improve preparedness for international pilgrimage journeys.
