Three-day idol installation festival begins in Shahpur

Shahpur village in Koppal taluk is getting ready for a three-day religious festival beginning April 27 for installing idols of Goddess Sri Durgaparameshwari, Lord Ganesh, and Lord Nandi. The celebrations will continue from April 27 to 29 with several rituals and prayers planned for the welfare of the village. Religious leaders and seers from nearby mutts are expected to take part and bless the event.

On the first day, a grand procession will be held in the morning carrying the idols along with sacred kalasha pots. Rituals like Jaladivasa, Ksheeradivasa and Pushpadivasa will be performed with devotion by priests. On the second day, homas and special prayers such as Navagraha Homa, Gana Homa and Mrityunjaya Homa will be conducted for peace and prosperity. The final day will feature the main Prana Pratishthapana ceremony in the early morning hours. Maha Poornahuti and Mahamangalaarti will be performed later in the day.

Devotees will be served Mahaprasad throughout the three days of the event. Organisers have invited people from nearby villages to attend in large numbers and receive blessings during the celebration. Local devotees from Hospet have also donated an idol of Sri Durgaparameshwari for the occasion. Village leaders have requested everyone to take part with faith and unity and seek the blessings of the deities during this important spiritual gathering spiritual celebration in Shahpur village and harmony joy.
