Two Children Killed as Community Hall Name Board Collapses in Manvi

In a tragic incident, two children lost their lives after a name board of a community hall collapsed during a cultural programme in Bail Marched village of Manvi taluk on Friday night. Four others, including two children, sustained serious injuries in the incident.

The deceased have been identified as Vishwanath Ramaling (9) and Sanvita Peddayya (2). The injured include Basamma Hanumanthray (40), Lakshmi Hanumanthray (18), and a minor girl Yellamma Sanna Veeresh (3). They have been admitted to OPEC Hospital in Raichur for treatment. According to sources, a traditional “Bayalata” (folk theatre) programme was organized in the village on Friday night. Women and children were seated in front of a nearby community hall to watch the performance. During the event, the name board of the building suddenly collapsed, leading to the mishap. Further details are awaited, and authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the incident.
