Slug: Local Roads Improved
Sirsi
MLA Bheemanna T. Naik on Saturday inaugurated road development works worth ₹30 lakh in Pragati Nagar under Ward No. 1, marking the start of long-awaited infrastructure improvement in the area. The foundation stone was laid through a bhoomi puja ceremony in the presence of local residents and officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that priority is being given to building quality roads to ensure smooth movement for residents. He assured that more development works will be taken up in the coming days based on local needs and public demand. Residents of the ward expressed happiness, saying that their long-pending request had finally been addressed with timely release of funds and commencement of work.
In another programme, MLA Naik officially flagged off a newly sanctioned modern fire brigade vehicle for Sirsi. The vehicle has been provided by the state government to strengthen emergency response services in the taluk.
He said that advanced vehicles are essential to protect public life and property during emergencies. The addition of the new fire tender, he added, will improve speed and efficiency in rescue and firefighting operations. Fire department officials and public representatives were present at the event.
In Siddapur, MLA Naik participated in a separate programme where he encouraged students and parents to focus on education and creativity. He urged parents to enroll their children in government schools, saying they provide quality education and opportunities for all-round development.
He advised students not to limit themselves to classroom learning alone but to actively participate in cultural events, meetings, and educational activities. He said such exposure helps build confidence, creativity, and a better future.
The MLA also took part in a cultural procession at Sri Kote Anjaneya Temple in Bedkani earlier in the day, which added a festive atmosphere to the educational programme.
School officials and organizers said the event was well-coordinated and encouraged active student participation, making it both informative and engaging for attendees.
