London
The FIA met Formula One teams in London to discuss possible changes to the 2026 rules after an early season review. Officials called the talks a constructive discussion, as teams shared concerns just three races into the new era. The main issue is energy management in the hybrid power units, which use both electric and fuel power in equal measure. Drivers are finding it hard to balance speed and battery use, often lifting off the throttle earlier than expected. To improve racing, the FIA will hold more meetings this month, including sessions on sporting rules and technical details. Another key meeting with all teams is planned for April 20, where final decisions may be shaped before the Miami race in May. While teams remain competitive, officials are hopeful they can agree on changes that keep racing exciting, fair, and sustainable for the future of the sport and technology progress together.
