In a shocking incident, a YouTuber allegedly attempted suicide by consuming tablets during a Facebook Live session, accusing police officials, including the Superintendent of Police (SP), of continuous harassment.
The individual has been identified as Salman Khan, who runs a YouTube channel named Media In Truth. In the live video, he made serious allegations against senior police officers, claiming he was being repeatedly harassed for uploading videos related to police activities. He alleged that he was called to the SP office under the pretext of a peace meeting, where he was humiliated in front of others and faced an attempt of assault. He further claimed that he was being pressured to delete his videos and shut down his YouTube channel. Salman also alleged that false cases were being planned against him and even claimed threats to his life.
Questioning the actions of the police, he stated that if a media person could face such treatment, the situation for ordinary citizens could be worse. He appealed for his video to reach leaders like Narendra Modi, Siddaramaiah, and D. K. Shivakumar. In an emotional state, he requested the public to take care of his family before consuming tablets on camera. He was immediately rushed to BRIMS Hospital in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment. Further details are awaited as authorities look into the matter.
