While efforts are being made to curb illegal activities in the prison, illegal activities are continuing unabated. Despite the strict measures taken by the jail warders, efforts are continuing to supply drugs, ganja, mobile phones, etc.
Meanwhile, a woman who had come to Parappana Agrahara Jail with three 5G SIMs, bidis and ganja items to give to her husband Farhan Khan, who is an undertrial prisoner, was caught and sent to the same jail. Ritika Ray (27) is the arrested woman.
Ritika, who hails from Assam, was married for the second time to Farhan Khan from Hennur. Farhan Khan was jailed a few months ago for his involvement in an extortion case.
Ritika had come to see her husband Farhan on March 26 after getting an interview pass. Ritika’s behavior at the entrance of the jail was suspicious. Therefore, the female staff took Ritika into custody and searched her. During this time, Ritika was found to be hiding three SIM cards, 27 grams of methamphetamine drug powder, bidi and tobacco products in her private parts. Therefore, Ritika was immediately handed over to the jail staff.
Based on a complaint filed by prison authorities, Rithika was arrested by the Parappana Agrahara police station after registering a case under the charges of NDPS and violation of prison rules.
Ritika had been arrested for similar thefts before. She was released on bail and continued her crime. She is currently a guest of the police.
