In a significant breakthrough, the police in Indi sub-division of Vijayapura district have successfully cracked multiple theft and robbery cases, leading to the arrest of 42 accused persons and recovery of stolen property worth over ₹1.20 crore.
According to police officials, a special investigation team constituted to probe the cases carried out sustained and systematic operations. As a result, a total of 20 different property-related cases have been successfully detected.
In connection with these cases, the police have seized stolen valuables worth approximately ₹1,20,04,750. The recovered items include gold and silver ornaments, as well as several vehicles such as a JCB machine, pickup vehicles, a Scorpio SUV, tractors, and water pump sets.
Addressing a press conference, Vijayapura Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi provided detailed information about the operation. He stated that the coordinated efforts of the investigation team played a crucial role in identifying the accused and recovering the stolen property. The Superintendent of Police also appreciated the dedication and hard work of the officers and staff involved in the investigation. He emphasized that such successful operations help strengthen public confidence in the police force. Reassuring citizens, he added that the department remains committed to maintaining law and order and will continue to take strict action against criminal activities in the district.
Further investigation in related cases is ongoing, police sources said.
