Intro: After days of panic buying, cooking gas bookings fall as supply stabilizes and government cracks down on hoarding and black-markeing.
NEW DELHI
The frantic rush to book cooking gas is finally slowing down as families realize there is plenty of fuel to go around.
Recent government data shows a significant drop in daily orders, signaling that the wave of panic buying which gripped neighborhoods last week is finally coming to an end.
Recently the officials recorded 77 lakh bookings, a sharp dip from nearly 89 lakh the day before. This shift suggests that the public feels more secure about future supplies. To keep things moving smoothly, authorities have even kept gas agencies open on Sundays. They are also pushing for digital bookings via WhatsApp and mobile apps, which now account for 87 percent of all orders.
While the supply remains steady, the government is playing tough with anyone trying to profit from the situation. Raids are currently happening across various states to stop illegal hoarding and black marketing. So far, 22 states have set up special control rooms to watch the market like a hawk. These teams are ensuring that no one hides cylinders to drive up prices.
The Ministry of Petroleum confirmed that hospitals, schools, and homes remain the top priority. Major companies like Indian Oil and Bharat Petroleum report that gas stations are full and deliveries are happening on schedule. Despite global tensions, officials insist there is no reason to worry or rush to the store. The message to the public is simple: stay calm, book online, and trust that the kitchen fire will keep burning without any interruptions.
