According to police officials, the seizure took place within the jurisdiction of Santpur Police Station after officers intercepted a suspicious two-wheeler on the Jambgi-B–Sorahalli village road. The police team had been conducting regular patrol and surveillance operations in the area when they received credible information about the possible movement of narcotics.

Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the police stopped the two-wheeler for inspection. During the search of the vehicle, officers discovered several bags containing a large quantity of ganja. Upon weighing the seized material, the police found that the accused was carrying 38 kilograms and 950 grams of the narcotic substance.

Authorities estimated the market value of the seized ganja at approximately ₹19,47,500 in the illegal drug market. In addition to the narcotics, the two-wheeler used to transport the contraband was also confiscated by the police. The vehicle is valued at around ₹30,000. With the seizure of both the ganja and the vehicle, the total value of the confiscated property amounts to ₹19,77,500.

The accused was immediately taken into custody, and a case has been registered at Santpur Police Station under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police officials stated that the arrested individual is currently being interrogated to determine the source of the ganja and to uncover any links to a larger drug trafficking network operating in the region.

Bidar Superintendent of Police Pradeep Gunti said that the district police are intensifying their efforts to curb the illegal drug trade and prevent the circulation of narcotic substances. He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in the transportation or sale of drugs.

The Bidar police are committed to maintaining law and order and ensuring that drug trafficking activities are brought under control. Such illegal activities will not be tolerated, he said.

Further investigation is underway to identify other individuals connected to the network and to trace the origin and intended destination of the seized contraband.
