Mandya
MLA Ganiga Ravikumar sparked political discussion with a satirical remark, saying Yathindra Siddaramaiah is the “high command” of the party. Speaking to reporters in Mandya, Ravikumar said the high command can issue notices to leaders, but leaders cannot question the high command, adding a sharp tone to his comments.
Referring to statements by D.K. Shivakumar, Ravikumar said he fully agreed that Yathindra holds significant influence. He remarked that while leaders are told not to speak, Yathindra continues to give statements, which he described sarcastically as acting like the “Supreme Court.” Ravikumar said it is difficult to place Yathindra anywhere in the power structure, claiming he appears stronger despite being asked to remain silent.
Strongly supporting D.K. Shivakumar, Ravikumar said no one can stop him from becoming Chief Minister. He praised Shivakumar’s political skills, calling him a master strategist who knows when to act and when to wait. Comparing the Congress team to the Indian cricket team, he said it is strong and experienced, not weak. He added that answers to political questions will come very soon.
Reacting to statements by H.D. Kumaraswamy, Ravikumar mocked his claim of removing a corrupt government. He said Kumaraswamy failed to protect his own government and accused him of being confused between ruling and opposition roles.
On the ARAI unit issue, Ravikumar said land and facilities have already been provided and urged Kumaraswamy to bring the industry. He stressed that constituency development is his priority and cooperation will continue without political criticism.
