Acclaimed filmmaker Meghna Gulzar has entered the final phase of shooting for her upcoming film Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Known for powerful films like Talvar, Raazi and Sam Bahadur, Gulzar shared the update with fans through social media, marking an important milestone for the project.
Taking to Instagram, the director posted a picture of a car loaded with travel bags, hinting at the team’s readiness for the last leg of the shoot. Her caption, Final Schedule. Here we go Team Daayra, added to the excitement surrounding the film.
Earlier in September, both Kareena and Prithviraj had shared behind-the-scenes moments from the first day of filming. Kareena posted photos from the sets, writing about beginning her 68th film with Meghna Gulzar and Prithviraj, while seeking blessings and love from fans. She also gave a glimpse of the team’s preparations, including a puja ceremony, look tests, script readings, and detailed scene discussions.
A special moment from the early schedule included veteran lyricist Gulzar visiting the sets and interacting with the crew. Prithviraj, too, expressed his enthusiasm, calling Daayra a new and exciting journey that challenges him as an actor.
Announced earlier this year, Daayra marks Kareena’s first collaboration with Meghna Gulzar. Both lead actors had shared heartfelt posts about the story and the team. According to the National Award-winning director, the film will explore themes that push audiences to reflect on society and its institutions.
