Amid ongoing political speculation over the “November revolution” in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is set to demonstrate his influence in Delhi. The CM will attend a dinner at the residence of MP Rajashekar Hitnal on November 16, along with ministers, MLAs, and MPs from his faction. Hitnal’s family has confirmed the event, creating a buzz in political circles about the possible discussions and messages this gathering may carry.
MP Hitnal stated that the dinner is being held primarily because he recently acquired a house in Delhi. “Since the CM will be in Delhi for three days, I decided to invite him and his delegation,” Hitnal explained. He added that Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar would also be invited if he chose to attend. Sources suggest that various state political issues could be discussed during the dinner, making it a significant meeting beyond just a social event.
Political analysts believe the dinner could be Siddaramaiah’s way of signaling his strength to the party high command. With speculations that D.K. Shivakumar might be considered for the Chief Minister’s post amid the so-called November revolution, Siddaramaiah’s Delhi visit and the banquet have drawn considerable attention. Many see it as an effort to reinforce his position and influence key decisions at the party level.
Meanwhile, Home Minister G. Parameshwar clarified that he was not invited to the dinner. “I was not aware of MP Hitnal organizing this event and will not attend,” he said. Siddaramaiah’s official schedule in Delhi also includes attending the launch of Kapil Sibal’s book, adding another layer to his three-day visit from November 15.
The dinner at Hitnal’s residence has already generated speculation across the state’s political circles. Observers are closely watching whether Siddaramaiah will use the opportunity to consolidate support, address rumors about leadership changes, and assert his authority ahead of any major announcements from the party high command.
