President Draupadi Murmu on Sunday underscored the importance of united national cooperation to transform India into a developed nation by 2047, calling for active participation from every section of society, especially women.

Addressing the second convocation ceremony of Patanjali University as the chief guest, President Murmu praised the institution for its commitment to holistic education and its emphasis on traditional Indian knowledge systems alongside modern learning. She said that true progress can only be achieved when women are equally empowered and given opportunities to excel in all sectors, including education, science, and governance.

Highlighting the increasing presence of women in higher education, the President expressed her happiness over the fact that 62 per cent of the students enrolled at Patanjali University and 64 per cent of the graduates receiving degrees at the convocation were girls. This is a strong indicator that the women of India are not only embracing education but are also leading the way toward building a developed and self-reliant nation, she remarked.

Murmu further noted that education is the cornerstone of national growth and that nurturing moral values and discipline among students is as important as academic excellence. She appreciated Patanjali University’s efforts to promote value-based education rooted in Indian culture and spirituality.

The President concluded her address by urging students to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation and contribute meaningfully to the realisation of the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, where equality, innovation, and sustainability form the pillars of India’s progress.
