Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to expedite the ongoing white-topping work on Dr Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar, which falls under the Bangalore West City Corporation (BWCC) limits.
During an inspection of the 700-metre stretch between Navarang Theatre and the 10th Cross Junction, Rao issued detailed instructions to accelerate the work. He noted that the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) is currently laying drinking water and sewerage pipelines and installing related chambers, and urged that these works be completed at the earliest.
To improve stormwater management, BWCC is also laying a 1,000-mm stormwater drain pipeline along the same stretch. Rao instructed that all ongoing works be completed within 15 days, after which the white-topping should begin and be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Since one side of the road is currently closed to vehicular movement, he directed officials to ensure effective traffic diversion, proper signage, and strict adherence to safety and traffic management protocols to avoid congestion and ensure public safety during the construction period.
